This combination, creating an intercom phone line, will generate two different ring tones; One for when your regular phone rings and the other for instances there is some one at the door.

By answering the phone you simply operate the intercom the same way you would from your intercom handset. The master unit of the intercom uses your phone like a multi line phone.
